Description of the Program

The programme covers theoretical fields including Music History, Folk Music, Contemporary Culture, and Analysis. Students also participate in concerts and composition practices. The objective of the major subject (Solo Singing) course is to establish a repertoire for students, develop their musical expression skills, knowledge of styles, and recital skills. Several courses focus on developing acting skills.

Application Requirements

General Entry Requirements

  • A BA degree in classical singing or a related field is required.
  • Language proficiency certificate may be waived if sufficient proficiency is demonstrated during the oral entrance examination.

Specific Requirements

  1. Portfolio: An uncut recording of the applicant performing:
    • 5 arias of at least two different periods of style
    • 2 songs (Schumann, Schubert, or Liszt)
    • 1 poem performed in the applicants mother tongue or any other freely chosen language
  2. The Committee also assesses the applicants stage aptitude.

Admission Criteria

Applications are forwarded to the relevant admission committee. If required, applicants may be invited for an oral exam, which can be conducted in person or via Skype, considering time zone differences. Applicants are given two possible dates for the interview.
