Introduction to the Global Scholars Program

The Global Scholars Program (GSP) is designed to prepare sophomore, junior, and senior University of Michigan students to be interculturally responsive global citizens, champions for meaningful change, and innovative leaders of tomorrow.

Program Overview

Global Scholars are from all over the United States and all around the world. They live together in North Quad, take a class together each semester, and join in weekly activities and social & cultural events planned by student leaders and the staff.

Learning Experience

Global Scholars learn about critical global issues through facilitated lectures, small-group dialogues, and collaborative group experiences that include project-based learning with a partner NGO. These are all ways we learn from and value each others knowledge, perspectives, and lived experiences and put that learning into practice.

Community and Belonging

Wherever youre from, GSP is a community where you can show up as your authentic self, make meaningful relationships in a supportive environment, develop and hone your cross-cultural communication skills, and find a sense of belonging in a globally diverse community.
