One of the courses offered is EAS 625.001 - Deep Decarbonization.

Course Details

This discussion-based seminar explores technologies and policies for deep decarbonization of the economy consistent with aggressive climate change mitigation targets. The goal of the course is to familiarize students with the challenges of and solutions to deep decarbonization. Readings will include parts of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fifth Assessment Report, reports from governments and non-governmental organizations, peer-reviewed journal articles, and policies from around the world. The course will start with a discussion of climate change impacts and required greenhouse gas emission reduction trajectories, then delve into sectoral decarbonization needs and strategies, concluding with a review of current efforts and their potential contribution to mitigation. This course is designed for graduate students, with preference given to SEAS graduate students, but junior and senior undergraduates and graduate students from all other schools are welcome to apply.
