Bachelor of Information Technology
The Bachelor of Information Technology is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to equip students with specialist skills for the fast-growing digital industries. This course focuses on high-demand areas, including web development, mobile-application development, data analysis, cyber security, network and system computing, ICT management, software engineering and development, network management, and global leadership.
Overview
Develop key information technology (IT) skills to expand career options with a Bachelor of Information Technology from Victoria University. This IT course will equip students with problem-solving skills for workplace scenarios and challenges. Students can choose their own IT job pathway based on interests and strengths, with a personalized learning experience.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Integrate and apply a broad and coherent body of knowledge of information technologies with depth in selected areas of study.
- Analyze and adapt the latest information technologies with intellectual independence, self-learning capabilities, and creativity to identify and solve real-world problems.
- Exhibit a range of technical, analytical, managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Present a solid foundation and strong practical skills with the ability of lifelong learning for industry certifications.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will need to meet the entry criteria outlined below. If the entry criteria are not met, students may be able to gain entry by first completing a related course or unit(s).
- Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent).
- A study score of at least 20 in Mathematics (any).
- Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent).
- IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score of 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking).
Special Entry Programs
If students are from a disadvantaged or underrepresented social, economic, or cultural background, they may be eligible for one of the special admission programs.
Course Structure
To attain the Bachelor of Information Technology, students will be required to complete 288 credit points consisting of:
- 96 credit points of First Year Core studies
- 48 credit points of Graduating Core studies
- 96 credit points of Major studies
- 48 credit points of Minor studies (discipline)
