Master of Community Development Program

The Master of Community Development program is offered in Colombia, with transcript English levels and pathways available.

English Language Entry Levels

There are six levels in VU English, ranging from elementary to advanced. Upon successful completion of a level, students can:

• Advance to a course in the next level
• Specialise in an area that interests them
• Apply to TAFE or University

VU English Placement Test

The VU English Placement Test is used to assess which level is right for each student.

Course Duration and Structure

All courses are 5 to 10 weeks in duration. The levels and corresponding courses are:

• Level 6: Advanced 2 (Approximate IELTS: 6.0/PTE 51-59/TOEFL IBT: 60-78)
• Level 5: Advanced 1 (Approximate IELTS: 5.5/PTE 44-50/TOEFL IBT: 46-59)
• Level 4: Upper intermediate (Approximate IELTS: 5.0/PTE 37-43/TOEFL IBT: 35-45)
• Level 3: Intermediate (Approximate IELTS: 4.5/PTE 30-36/TOEFL IBT: 32-34)
• Level 2: Pre-intermediate (Approximate IELTS: 4.0/TOEFL IBT: 20-31)
• Level 1: Elementary (Approximate IELTS: 3.5/TOEFL IBT: 0-19)

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

On completion of General English 3 (Intermediate), students can advance to English for Academic Purposes (EAP). EAP courses are available at various levels, including:

• EAP 6: Most VU courses requiring IELTS 6.5 or 7 entry
• EAP 5: Courses requiring IELTS 6.0 entry
• EAP 4: Courses requiring IELTS 5.5 entry

General English (GE) Courses

General English courses are available at various levels, including:

• GE 6: Advanced 2
• GE 5: Advanced 1
• GE 4: Upper intermediate
• GE 3: Intermediate
• GE 2: Pre-intermediate
• GE 1: Elementary
