PhD in Gender Studies
The PhD in Gender Studies is a 3rd cycle program that aims to contribute to the affirmation of Gender Studies as an autonomous scientific area of research and advanced training.
Education Objectives
- Contribute to the affirmation of Gender Studies as an autonomous scientific area of research and advanced training through targeted learning, with criteria of high demand and rigor.
- Develop theoretical, methodological, and analytical skills necessary to conduct original research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the area.
- Stimulate self-learning paths, encouraging autonomous work, critical analysis, and the capacity to communicate and disseminate knowledge.
- Promote the integration of students in research networks, facilitating national and international mobility.

Degree Pre-requisites
The degree of doctor is conferred to those who have obtained 240 ECTS, by passing the doctoral course (80 ECTS), and the elaboration of the PhD thesis, its discussion, and approval (160 ECTS).
Conditions of Admittance
Holders of a Master's degree or legal equivalent in different scientific areas such as Social and Human Sciences, Life Sciences, Technological Sciences, or any other scientific and artistic areas. Those who have an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum especially relevant to Gender Studies, which indicates a capacity for the successful completion of this cycle of studies.
