Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing is a five-year part-time program designed to prepare first-level nurses who can provide effective evidence-based patient-centered care. The program aims to equip students with an understanding of nursing's distinct knowledge base, as well as knowledge derived from social and life sciences.

The program comprises both theoretical and practical components, with a diversified content designed to develop students' ability to draw upon various types of knowledge, skills, and understanding of an individual's personal wishes to guide nursing action in various settings.


Program Structure

The program is divided into five years, with each year consisting of two semesters. The program includes compulsory units, practice placements, and an optional study unit in the final year.

  • In addition to compulsory study units, students are required to register for an optional study unit to the value of 2 ECTS credits.

Admission Requirements

Adult learners applying for admission may be required to sit for and pass an interview. Applicants must submit an updated Curriculum Vitae and a letter of motivation, written in English, explaining why they are applying for the course.


Fees

The fee per academic year for non-EU applicants is Eur 5,400.

The program is governed by The General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019, and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Bachelor of Science (Honours) - B.Sc. On successful completion of the course, candidates are eligible to apply for registration with the Malta Council for Nurses and Midwives.
