Master of Science in Education
The Master of Science in Education program in Human Services is designed to provide students with knowledge and insight into the practice of human services and counseling techniques. This 30-hour master's degree program is suitable for individuals in the clergy, nursing, criminal justice, and other related fields.
Program Overview
The program does not lead to obtaining Ohio's Professional Counseling (PC) or Professional Clinical Counseling (PCC) licenses on its own. However, students who intend to obtain either license can enroll in the University of Dayton's Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.S.E.) program.

The program requires 30 credit hours to complete. Students who wish to gain insight to help in their own fields of practice often enroll in this program.

Application deadlines for the Human Services program are as follows:
- Spring enrollment: Case by case
- Summer enrollment: Case by case
- Fall enrollment: Case by case
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the program should submit the following information:
- Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities
- Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers
- A personal statement
- Results from the GRE or MAT are required for applicants with an undergraduate grade-point average below 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
Applicants must have attained an undergraduate cumulative grade-point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Those with less than a 2.75 cumulative GPA may be admitted if they achieve a raw score of 40 or higher or a scaled score of 396 or higher on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or scaled scores of 149 or higher on the verbal ability and 4.0 or higher on the analytical writing sections of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
International Admission
International students must submit English Proficiency, Visa and Financial Documentation, and a WES credential evaluation along with the items listed above.
