Disability and Ministry Graduate Certificate
The Disability and Ministry Graduate Certificate is a 12-hour program that equips students to minister as, with, and to people with disabilities. The certificate consists of two required courses in scripture and theology, focused on disability, which provide foundational theological courses. Students can tailor their certificate programs with an additional six elective credits. Some of the elective offerings include praxis courses taught by instructors with years of experience in disability and ministry.
Certificate Information and Courses
Graduate certificates offered by the Department of Religious Studies may be pursued as an integral part of one of the Master of Arts degree programs (pastoral ministry or theological studies), as a free-standing program for non-degree seeking students, or as a supplement to a completed Master of Arts degree. The University of Daytons online certificate programs include a hybrid option that welcomes students from across the country into synchronous classes with residential students.
Application and Admission Requirements
Students seeking admission to any certificate program must satisfy the following requirements based on academic standing:
- University of Dayton graduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA can apply.
- University of Dayton undergraduate students can apply upon attaining senior standing (90 semester hours) with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Professionals wishing to obtain the certificate only must have completed a bachelor's degree as verified by a transcript when applying to the certificate program.
