Pre-Med Studies

What we offer

The post-bac pre-med studies certificate program is designed for college graduates who wish to be competitive applicants to medical schools and other professional programs. The program offers two options:

• The core studies option, which is suitable for career changers needing two years of core studies in the sciences.
• The one-year advanced studies option, which is ideal for individuals with a scientific background who want to enhance their academic credentials on more advanced topics in the biomedical sciences.

The courses in the program include both the natural and behavioral sciences, as well as multicultural competency.

The program has a track record of success, with students achieving their goals of becoming doctors. Some examples include:

• Yoon-Jae Yi, a psychology and French major who found her roots at Wright State University.
• Catherine Evers Smith, a Wright State student who was part of a research team that received funding from the National Institutes of Health to work on a novel approach to fight cancer.
