Art and Design Fashion and Industry

The Art and Design Fashion and Industry program is a bachelor's course designed for exchange students.

Program Description

In this program, emphasis is placed on the development of concepts and the visualization of ideas towards a finished product. Theoretical reflection and understanding the context of fashion, such as history, market, and national and global social structures, are also emphasized. The program gives students insight into creative, commercial, and ethical fashion design.


Admission Requirements

  • The course is open for exchange students who are currently enrolled in a bachelor program within the field of Fashion and Industry.
  • Students must have completed at least one year of study.

Course Description

The program includes several courses:


KD2000 Entrepreneurship in Art and Design

  • The course employs a wide definition of entrepreneurship that includes personal development, creativity, self-reliance, initiative taking, and action orientation.
  • Students work in teams to solve real-life challenges, introducing them to practical entrepreneurship through an action-based approach to value creation.

KDM2410 Active Wear

  • This course provides a basic introduction to user-driven innovation processes for developing new activewear.
  • Through design, product development, and prototyping, students gain a basic understanding of how shape, functionality, materiality, and technique contribute to aesthetic and functional solutions for clothing appropriate to sports and leisure activities.

KDM2420 Corporate Internship

  • The course comprises a 9-10 week internship in an enterprise or at another educational institution.
  • Students participate in day-to-day operations and become familiar with the company or institutions structure, culture, and values.

  • There is no semester fee for exchange students.
