The University of Toledo offers a post-baccalaureate certificate in legal and paralegal studies. This certificate requires 30 credit hours for graduation. An earned bachelor's degree is required for admission to the certificate program.
Overview
A dynamic field of study, the program in legal and paralegal studies prepares students to be an integral part of the legal team, working under the supervision and direction of attorneys. Paralegals assist attorneys by conducting interviews and investigations, researching cases, drafting legal documents, and assisting at real estate closings, depositions, and trials. The certificate program holds prestigious American Bar Association approval.
Requirements
The post-baccalaureate certificate program includes academic course work and practical experiences designed to develop the knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills necessary for contributing to the legal profession. All of the program faculty are licensed attorneys, judges, and magistrates and are available for career advising.
