Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a Rural Journalism Internship Program award, you must:

  • Secure a summer internship in a Nebraska community with a population under 80,000
  • Intern in journalism, broadcasting, community-based, or nonprofit organizations
  • Submit a formal offer letter with your application

Program Details

  • A housing award to offset living expenses while you intern
  • Award amounts vary based on funding availability and the number of applicants
  • Funds are applied to your UNL student account and refunded to you if no balance is due
  • Selection is competitive and reviewed by the CoJMC Scholarship Committee
