Master's Program in Statistics
The Master's program in Statistics at the University of Vienna is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in statistical methods and techniques.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Master's program in Statistics, applicants must have completed a Bachelor's or Diploma degree in a relevant field. The specific admission requirements are as follows:
- Statistik and Mathematik, with a total of at least 75 ECTS,
- including at least 24 ECTS in Statistik/Stochastik (including MaÔtheorie, Finanzmathematik, and økonometrie)
- and at least 24 ECTS in Mathematik.
Qualitative Admission Requirements
The qualitative admission requirements for the Master's program in Statistics include:
- Statistik and Mathematik, with a total of at least 75 ECTS,
- including at least 24 ECTS in Statistik/Stochastik (including MaÔtheorie, Finanzmathematik, and økonometrie)
- and at least 24 ECTS in Mathematik. If there are significant differences in the applicant's prior education, additional exams may be required to compensate for these differences.
Prior Degrees
The following prior degrees are considered eligible for admission to the Master's program in Statistics:
- Statistik and Data Analytics (Bachelor) - admission without additional exams.
- Betriebswirtschaft (Bachelor) with the alternative compulsory module "Berufsfeld Wirtschaftsstatistik" (24 ECTS) - additional exams required:
- UK Computational Statistics (4 ECTS)
- VO and UE H—here Analysis (10 ECTS) Total: 14 ECTS
- Internationale Betriebswirtschaft (Bachelor) with the alternative compulsory module "Berufsfeld Wirtschaftsstatistik" (24 ECTS) - additional exams required:
- UK Computational Statistics (4 ECTS)
- VO and UE H—here Analysis (10 ECTS) Total: 14 ECTS
- Volkswirtschaftslehre (Bachelor) - additional exams required:
- VO and UE H—here Analysis (10 ECTS) Total: 10 ECTS
Degrees from Other Institutions
Degrees from other Austrian universities and colleges, as well as from EU/EWR countries and Switzerland, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Degrees from non-EU/EWR countries will also be evaluated individually.
