Admission to the master's program in statistics

All information about the admission process for the master's degree in statistics for people who have completed a bachelor's/diploma degree from the University of Vienna.


Same subject or not?

“The same subject” (= “consecutive” or “at least relevant in terms of subject matter”) means e.g. B. Bachelor's degree in mathematics and master's degree in mathematics. You can find out whether a course of study has the same subject or whether further requirements are required for admission to the master's program in the curriculum of the master's program or in the Master Access Guide.


Your steps in the admission process

Studies in the same subject area

  1. Make sure your SSC has registered the bachelor's degree.
  2. Log in to u:space within the application deadline.
  3. Under Studies > Apply for a master's degree in the same subject you can see the studies for which automatic admission is possible.
  4. Select your desired course of study and use the “Admit” button.
  5. Pay the tuition/ÖH contribution.
  6. Check in u:space > Study overview whether the admission was carried out correctly.

Non-subject-related studies

  • Application deadline: November 13, 2025 to February 5, 2026
  • Admission period: January 7th to March 31st, 2026

Log in to u:space and select the desired course of study under Studies > Apply for admission.


Step 2: Wait for the acceptance letter

Step 3: Admission to study

Admission can either take place without further supplementary examinations, with supplementary examinations from the bachelor's program or be rejected due to a lack of subject matter/qualitative admission requirements.
