The university offers a wide range of programs and services to support student development, wellness, and academic success.
Fitness Training Course
The Fitness Training Course (FTC) is a two-hour elementary level course that teaches the basic principles of exercise and the proper use of equipment in the fitness room.
- Schedule: Available courses can be viewed for December 2025 and January 2026.
- Registration: Opens on a first-come, first-served basis, with specific dates for December and January sessions.
- Requirements:
- Open to full-time students aged 15 or above.
- Students are limited to registering for one course.
- Registered students must attend the course punctually and in proper sportswear.
- Attendance:
- Taken within the first five minutes of the class.
- Students who complete the course will be registered as eligible users of the PolyU Fitness Room.
- An E-certificate will be awarded upon completion.
Counselling and Wellness
The university provides various counselling and wellness services, including:
- Student Counselling: Offers meeting with counsellors, non-office hours hotline service, and assessment/tests.
- Sports Development: Includes PE programs, sports teams, and sports facilities.
- Wellness Centre: Provides fitness consultation, services, and resources.
Student Resources and Support
The university offers various resources and support services, including:
- Facilities: Communal facilities, regulations, and booking information.
- Scholarships: Types, application, and administration information.
- Residential Life: University-managed accommodations, hall admission, and residential education.
- Financial Assistance: Government and PolyU financial assistance schemes, deferred payment of tuition fees, and financial tips.
- Non-local Student Services: Pre-arrival, settling in, life at PolyU, living and working in Hong Kong, and programs for non-local students.
- Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs: Welcome pack, types of special needs, campus resources, scholarship and funding, and inclusion awareness enhancement.
Student Development
The university provides various student development programs and services, including:
- Holistic Student Development: Dean of Students Talk Series, EAGLE Global Youth Leadership Hub, and on-campus intercultural development programs.
- Student Organisations: Student-led orientation, student organisation directory, and election of executive committee.
- Student Participation in University Governance: PolyU Council, university committees, and list of student representatives.
