Introduction to the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems is part of the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing & AI, which comprises two awards: BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems. Students admitted to the scheme will complete a common Year 1 curriculum before selecting their honours degree award.

The BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems aims to provide graduates with a balanced business and technical background. The programme equips graduates with strong competence in investigating business systems, identifying options for improving those systems, and bridging the needs of business with the use of IT. Graduates will also gain the ability to develop information systems and manage business projects in the commercial sector.

Programme Characteristics

• The BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing & AI features a common first year, allowing students to decide on their final award in the second year of study.
• The programme offers rich study pathways, with relatively few core credits, giving students the flexibility to take on a Minor study in other disciplines, such as Business Administration, Financial Services, Social Science, or other Engineering disciplines.
• Students can also take additional Computing subjects to continue or specialise in one or more technical streams.
• The curriculum covers up-to-date practical skills in both content and teaching methodology.
• Students can be admitted into the Departments Masters programme, gaining a Masters degree with one extra year of study.
• Many departmental scholarships are available for students, recognising both their academic and non-academic performance.

The BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems features a balanced curriculum that covers technology, management, and business, emphasizing computing techniques and applications, and software design and development skills in the business sector, such as logistics, customer relationship, audit, and control. Students can apply to pursue a Minor study in any discipline.

Admission Criteria

• JUPAS Applicants: With HKDSE results.
• NON-JUPAS Local Year 1 Admissions: For local students with non-HKDSE results or international qualifications.
• NON-JUPAS Local Senior Year Admissions: For local final year students or graduates with Associate Degree or Higher Diploma qualifications.
• International Students: Applicable to non-local students with international qualifications who require a student visa to study in Hong Kong.
