The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Surveying is a professional degree program designed to develop well-rounded and flexible graduates with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the interdisciplinary professions of land management, real estate development, and construction project management.

Programme Aims

The program aims to develop graduates with a global mindset, equipped to enter the professions of building surveying, general practice surveying, planning and development, property and facility management, and quantity surveying.

  • This is a professional degree program with global and practical perspectives.
  • Students learn about economics, law, finance, and investment, management, and technology in the construction and real estate context.
  • Problem identification, problem-solving, and decision-making are the focuses of the program.
  • Students have close contact with the industry through guest lectures, company visits, and site visits.
  • Practical training/internship (Work-Integrated Education) is a compulsory element of the curriculum.
  • The Department maintains a mentorship scheme, matching students with senior figures in the construction and real estate industry.
  • A student exchange program provides opportunities for students to study abroad for one academic semester at universities in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, Chinese Mainland, and elsewhere.

Programme Structure

  • All admitted students embark on a Common Year One curriculum.
  • Towards the end of Year One, students can decide whether to continue with their initial choice or switch to another choice within the Faculty.
  • Those who wish to change to another choice need to join a competitive process through a ranking assessment, considering a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance.

Scholarships
