Master of Science in Civil Engineering
The Master of Science in Civil Engineering is a postgraduate program offered by the Faculty of Construction and Environment. The program is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and specialized skills in civil engineering, with a focus on general civil engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering.
Program Aims
The program aims to:
- Develop students' capabilities in designing engineered systems or processes to meet desired needs in civil engineering projects within realistic constraints.
- Cultivate students' strategic thinking skills in dealing with complex problems and situations pertinent to their professional practice.
- Enhance students' learning capabilities for continual professional development through inquiry and reflection on professional practice.
Curriculum
The program is a mixed-mode program, allowing students to pursue their studies in either full-time or part-time mode. The program normally takes 1 year to complete for full-time study or 2.5 years for part-time study, depending on the pace of study of individual students.
Program Structure
Students must complete:
- 10 subjects (including at least 7 Core Subjects and at most 3 Elective Subjects), or
- 7 subjects (including at least 4 Core Subjects and at most 3 Elective Subjects) plus a 9-credit Dissertation and 1-credit Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) subject.

Tuition Fee
