Master of Science in Geomatics

The Master of Science in Geomatics is a comprehensive programme designed for professionals in geographic information systems (GIS), surveying, or related fields. Programme Structure

Students can choose one of three routes to fulfill graduation requirements:


  1. Dissertation route: Compulsory Subjects (15 credits) + LSGI551 Dissertation (9 credits) + 2 Subjects (6 credits) + 1 AIE Subject (1 credit)
  2. Project route: Compulsory Subjects (15 credits) + LSGI552 Project (6 credits) + 3 Subjects (9 credits) + 1 AIE Subject (1 credit)
  3. Non-dissertation/project route: Compulsory Subjects (15 credits) + 5 Subjects (15 credits) + 1 AIE Subject (1 credit)

Credit Required for Graduation

Students are required to complete 31 credits, including 30 normal study credits and 1 tuition-free credit to fulfill the Academic Integrity and Ethics Requirement.

  • A professional qualification plus relevant work experience related to surveying or GIS

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee is HK$7,200 per credit for local and non-local students.
