Master of Science / Postgraduate Diploma in Intelligent Wearable Technology

The Master of Science / Postgraduate Diploma in Intelligent Wearable Technology is a postgraduate degree program offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Programme Structure

The program offers two learning modes:


  • Mixed-mode (Full-time)
  • Mixed-mode (Part-time)

The normal duration of the program is:


  • 1.5 years (MSc Full-time)
  • 3 years (MSc Part-time)
  • 1.5 years (PgD)

The program requires students to complete a certain number of credits for graduation:


  • 34 credits (For MSc)
  • 22 credits (For PgD)

The program is a specialization in intelligent wearable technology for local, national, and international students to enroll in a project-based or course-based MSc program. Wearable technology is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world, seamlessly compatible with emerging trends in artificial intelligence, metaverse, Internet of Things, assistive robotics, healthcare monitoring, new advanced materials, and smart fashion and textiles.

Entrance Requirements

The program requires:


  • Bachelors degree holders or above in any following disciplines: Fashion and Textiles, Materials Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, Design, Business, or other related disciplines
  • If you are not a native speaker of English, and your Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification is awarded by institutions where the medium of instruction is not English, you are expected to fulfill the Universitys minimum English language requirement for admission purpose

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for the program is HK$7,350 per credit.


Academic Integrity and Ethics Requirement

Students are required to complete a 1-credit subject on Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) Requirement within the first semester of study. No credit fee will be charged for this subject. The AIE subject will be assessed on a pass/fail grading system and will not be included in the GPA calculation.
