The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics (AIDA) / Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) is a unique program designed to cultivate students with interdisciplinary knowledge of physics and either artificial intelligence and data analytics or innovation and entrepreneurship.

About the Programme
Aims & Characteristics
All admitted students will embark on a Common Year One curriculum. Towards the end of year one, students can decide whether to continue with their initial choice or switch to another choice within the Faculty of Science. Those who wish to change to another choice need to join a competitive process through a ranking assessment, which considers a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance.
BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (Physics x AIDA)
The Physics x AIDA programme is tailored to students who are interested in both physics and AI. With a strong emphasis on applications, the programme exposes students to both fundamental and applied physics topics in addition to the principal theories of AI.
BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Physics x IE)
The Physics x IE programme offers a very diverse curriculum that covers fundamental and applied physics, innovation, and business. A highlight of this programme is the extended internship training in major technology enterprises or start-ups, which provides excellent opportunities for students to become innovative leaders in Hong Kong.

Curriculum
All admitted students will embark on a Common Year One Curriculum comprising 30 credits. From Year Two to Year Four, students are required to fulfill the Major subjects, Secondary Major subjects, and GUR subjects.
Secondary Major Details
Unlike other PolyU programmes, for which admission to the Secondary Major is on a competitive basis and subject to the intake quotas, all students of this programme will be admitted to either Secondary Major. The curriculum of this programme is precisely designed to consolidate the strengths of both the Major and the Secondary Major to help graduates excel in the contemporary workplace environment and to take on future challenges.
