Master of Theology Program
The Theological Faculty at the University of Bern offers a Master of Theology program, which provides students with a comprehensive education in the field of theology. The program is designed to equip students with a deep understanding of the Christian faith and its various traditions, as well as the skills necessary to engage in critical thinking, research, and practical application.
Program Structure
The Master of Theology program is a four-semester program that consists of 120 ECTS credits. The program is divided into two main areas of study: Mono (120 ECTS) with a focus on either Evangelical Theology or Old Catholic Theology, and Minor (30 ECTS) with a focus on Theology, History and Theology of Old Catholicism, or Judaic Studies.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Master of Theology program, students must have a Bachelor's degree in Theology or a related field from a recognized university. The Bachelor's degree must be no more than 15 years old, although exceptions may be made in certain cases. Students with a Bachelor's degree in a different field may also be admitted, provided they complete additional coursework to meet the necessary requirements.
