The University of Geneva offers a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Management of Social Institutions. This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the social sector, enabling them to manage and lead social institutions effectively.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the DAS in Management of Social Institutions are to:

Program Structure

The DAS in Management of Social Institutions consists of 10 modules, each lasting 3 days. The program is divided into three main areas:

• Contextual field: Understanding the social, economic, and political context of social institutions
• Strategic field: Developing leadership and management skills
• Operational field: Implementing innovative solutions and managing social institutions effectively

Module Descriptions

• Module 3: Financial management - Covers the fundamentals of financial management in social institutions
• Module 4: Managerial communication - Develops skills in communication and public speaking
• Module 5: Social policies and financing - Examines the relationships between economy, public finances, and social policies
• Module 6: Human resource management - Focuses on the management of human resources in social institutions
• Module 7: Evaluation of social policies and actions - Introduces methods and tools for evaluating social policies and actions

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the DAS in Management of Social Institutions, candidates must:

• Hold a university degree or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the social sector
• Demonstrate excellent written and spoken French
• Have basic computer skills

Tuition Fees

The total cost of the program is CHF 12,000. Participants can also enroll in individual modules at a cost of CHF 1,800 per module.

Duration and Schedule

The program lasts from September 2026 to June 2027, with each module taking place over 3 consecutive days.

Location

The program is held at the University of Geneva, with some modules taking place at other locations in the Geneva area.

Certification

Upon completion of the program, participants are awarded a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Management of Social Institutions.
