Overview
The Éthique Clinique program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the theoretical foundations and tools necessary to understand and address complex ethical situations. This program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of clinical ethics, enabling them to identify, formulate, and resolve ethical problems in their professional practice.
Objectives
- Identify and clearly formulate the true ethical problem
- Acquire the philosophical bases and know the moral theories underlying the ethical issues of our time
- Know how to argue an ethical position in a rational manner while being able to integrate divergent opinions
- Create links with other fields of activity with full knowledge of the facts
- Apply and deploy within their own institution the knowledge and skills acquired in the CAS
Public
The program is targeted towards healthcare professionals, social workers, and directors of care facilities who are looking to deepen their understanding of ethical issues in their field.
Competences Visées
- Master the main themes of clinical ethics and become a resource person in their domain of activity
- Be able to evaluate discernment, resolve value conflicts step by step, and analyze complex ethical situations
- Understand the ethical divergences around the beginning and end of life
- Master the ethical issues related to social intervention and mistreatment, as well as those related to errors in professional practice
- Integrate ethical issues into professional practice in a multidisciplinary perspective
- Integrate and discuss the points of view of others and argue rationally to reach a team consensus

The program consists of 7 modules:
- Introduction to Clinical Ethics
- Discernment
- Beginning of Life
- End of Life
- Ethics and Social Work
- Mistreatment
- Human Error
Titre Obtenu
The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Clinical Ethics is awarded by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva to participants who have satisfied the knowledge control conditions of the modules and the final study work. Participants who have completed only one module can obtain a certification of completion of that module.

- Finance d'inscription: CHF 6,500 for the complete program, CHF 2,500 per module

Conditions d'Admission
- Hold a university degree (license, bachelor, or master) in medicine or a related field
- Have relevant professional experience of at least one year
- Demonstrate basic knowledge in ethics
Cursus
- Période: To be determined
- Crédits: 15 ECTS credits
- Heures denseignement: 151 hours of teaching in presence
- Horaires d'enseignement: Variable weekdays, 9 am - 5 pm, with breaks
