Program Overview

The University of Geneva offers a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Sexual Health, with a focus on prevention and promotion. This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of sexual health, including its historical, psychosocial, anthropological, public health, and legal aspects.

Objectives

The primary objectives of this program are to:

• Acquire multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of sexuality and sexual health
• Discover and deepen projects of prevention and promotion in the field of sexual health
• Integrate theoretical knowledge and develop professional skills and posture to support the promotion of sexual health in various professional contexts

Target Audience

This program is intended for professionals in the medical, psycho-social, educational, or training fields who are involved in addressing issues related to sexual health.

Program Structure

The program consists of three modules:

1. Human Relations and Sexuality: This module explores the determinants of sex, gender, and sexuality, as well as the various dimensions of intimacy and body relationships.
2. Public Health and Sexual Health: This module covers the basics of public health work, promotion of sexual health, and prevention, with a focus on national and international frameworks.
3. Practical Laboratory: This module involves an alternation between thematic courses and in-depth workshops, aiming to identify tools and resources based on situations from the participants' professional environments.

• Tuition Fee: CHF 5,600, with a non-refundable registration fee of CHF 200

Diploma and Partnerships

The diploma is awarded jointly by the University of Geneva, the University of Lausanne, and the Haute École spécialisée de Suisse occidentale (HES-SO), in partnership with Santé sexuelle suisse, Lausanne.

The program is directed by Barbara Berger, Santé sexuelle suisse, and coordinated by Agnčs Földhazi, Haute École de travail social (HETS), Geneva.

Scientific Committee

The program's scientific committee includes representatives from various institutions, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to sexual health.
