Introduction to the Master of Advanced Studies in Neuropsychology

The Master of Advanced Studies in Neuropsychology is designed to meet the requirements of the Federal Law on Professions in the Field of Psychology (LPsy) and the accreditation criteria for awarding the federal title of Specialist in Neuropsychology.

Objectives

• Acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for autonomous practice as a neuropsychologist.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of the consequences of brain damage on psychological functioning and family and socio-professional integration.
• Develop extended evaluation and intervention skills for individuals with brain damage and their families.
• Prepare participants to communicate and cooperate in an interdisciplinary setting.

Target Audience

Holders of a master's degree in psychology or an equivalent title, aiming to work with children, adolescents, or adults in various contexts where clinical neuropsychology is present.

Program Structure

The program consists of 60 ECTS credits and includes theoretical training, practical training, and a final evaluation. Theoretical training comprises 504 units and 40 ECTS credits, while practical training includes 3600 hours of supervised clinical practice, 300 units of supervision, and 180 clinical cases.

Admission Criteria

• Hold a Swiss university master's degree in psychology or a recognized equivalent degree.
• Provide evidence of basic training in clinical neuropsychology equivalent to 18 ECTS credits.
• Have a contract for an internship or employment as a psychologist in the field of clinical neuropsychology.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee is CHF 20,000, which includes theoretical training, 50 units of supervision, and the final evaluation.

Duration and Schedule

The program lasts for 3 years, with theoretical training given 2 days a month (Friday and Saturday) over three years or more, depending on needs.

Accreditation

The program is accredited by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) according to the LPsy and leads to the federal title of Neuropsychologist.
