Graduate Diploma in Engineering Project Management
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering Project Management (GradDipEPM) is a career-boosting diploma that combines knowledge and hands-on experience to develop project management skills and unlock opportunities in the chosen field.
Programme Overview
The GradDipEPM aims to fulfill industry demand by creating graduates who are changemakers and leaders of tomorrow. The programme prepares students to understand the principles, concepts, and practices of project management in engineering, enabling them to pursue international opportunities and contribute effectively to project teams.
Programme Structure
The GradDipEPM is a 120-point taught programme offered full-time within one year or part-time over four years at the City campus. The programme requires completing 45 core points, including:
- ENGGEN 730: Leadership and Professional Development (15 points)
- Either ENGGEN 731: Agile and Lean Project Management or ENGGEN 742: Project Management (30 points)
- Or ENGGEN 740: Project Management Bodies of Knowledge (30 points)
- An additional 75 points from courses in the Master of Civil Engineering or Master of Engineering Project Management, excluding research courses and dissertation, or from Stage III, IV, or 700-level courses in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Schedule.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the GradDipEPM include:
- Any bachelor's degree with a GPA/GPE of at least 2.0
- A professional qualification or equivalent level of relevant professional experience
- A level of technical competence in Engineering equivalent to at least Parts I and II of the BE (Hons)
- English proficiency with an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0 for international applicants.
Fees and Scholarships
The fees for the GradDipEPM are:
- NZ$11,169.15 for domestic students
- NZ$57,063 for international students
- A Student Services Fee of $9.44 per point, estimated at $1,132.80 for full-time study. Scholarships and awards are available, and students can also apply for student loans and allowances.

The application closing dates are:
- 8 December 2025 for Semester One 2026
- 8 June 2026 for Semester Two 2026 The start dates for the programme are:
- 2 March 2026 for Semester One
- 20 July 2026 for Semester Two
