Introduction to the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce Conjoint BA/BCom
The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce Conjoint BA/BCom is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to equip students with a broad range of skills and knowledge in both the arts and commerce. This conjoint degree allows students to combine their core courses in business and enterprise with a wide range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, cultures, and languages.
Programme Overview
The BA/BCom conjoint program typically takes four years to complete, requiring students to complete a total of 540 points. The program structure consists of:
- 255 points from BA courses
- 255 points from BCom courses
- 15 points from a General Education course
- 15 points from courses available for any program at the University
Students can choose up to two subjects as their major(s) for the BA component and up to two modules. For the BCom component, there are six compulsory Stage I courses, after which students can focus on their chosen major(s) from twelve available options.

- General Education Course: Students are recommended to choose either the Business or Arts and Education Waipapa Taumata Rau course as their General Education course.

Entry Requirements
For New Zealand Students
To be eligible for the program, New Zealand students must meet the University Entrance (UE) standard and achieve a guaranteed rank score. Specific requirements include:
- NCEA: A total of 210 points.
- CIE: A total of 230 points.
- IB: A total score of 28.
For International Students
International students must have one of the following qualifications:
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: With a minimum total score of 24.
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level: With a minimum of three A-Level subjects.
- Cambridge International Examinations (CIE): With a minimum of three A-level subjects.
Minimum grade requirements for international students include:
- IB: 28 points.
- GCE A Level/CIE: BBC.
- IELTS: 6.0, with no bands less than 5.5.
Fees and Scholarships
2026 Fees
- Domestic Students: NZ$9,232.65 (indicative).
- International Students: NZ$54,150 (indicative).
Fees are inclusive of 15% GST but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel, health insurance, or living costs. A Student Services Fee of $9.44 per point applies, estimated at $1,274.40 for full-time study.
