About Program

Program Overview

Introduction to the Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Science Conjoint

The Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Science Conjoint is a unique program that allows students to explore their scientific interests while expanding their musical technique and understanding. This conjoint degree offers students the opportunity to pursue both of their areas of interest and structure a degree that is unique to them.

Programme Overview

The diversity of majors available in both Music and Science is a strength of the BMus/BSc conjoint. Students will be able to pursue both of their areas of interest and structure a degree that is unique to them. The programme fosters creative and independent thinking, which is essential for success in scientific research. The discipline and practice of music complement the acute focus necessary for successful scientific research.

Programme Structure

The BMus/BSc degree can be completed in four years (eight semesters) if students are studying full-time and complete nine courses each year. Students will be required to complete:

  • 255 points from BMus courses
  • 255 points from BSc courses
  • 30 points from General Education courses

Students should note that their exact enrolment will depend on their majors of choice. For BMus, the majority of courses are prescribed, whereas Science courses will depend on the choice of major(s). Each Science major usually has a range of core and elective courses.
