Master of Professional Studies in Education
The Master of Professional Studies in Education offers the opportunity to build knowledge, skills, and experience in educational research. The programme includes a 60-point dissertation on a research area of interest. Courses are offered using a range of delivery modes.

Opportunities
The Master of Professional Studies in Education will be of special interest to teachers with three years of teaching experience who hold either a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary, Primary, or Early Childhood Education) or a Bachelor of Physical Education (four-year degree), as it allows them to proceed directly to study at the Master's level. It is also a Master's option for those who have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
Content
The programme includes an approved 30-point research methods course, a 60-point dissertation, and a 30-point course associated with the research area, providing a coherent whole to the programme of study.
Entry Requirements
To be admitted to the Education specialization in the Master of Professional Studies programme, applicants need to have completed the requirements for either:
- A four-year Bachelor's degree
- A Bachelor's (Honours) degree
- A Bachelor's degree and a professional qualification in Education equivalent to one years advanced study In addition, applicants must have at least three years of teaching experience. Note that some courses have prerequisites.

Enrolment
The approval of the heads of all departments in which a student applies to enrol is required. Note that enrolment is expected to be continuous, but where enrolments include 15-point courses, a period of up to four years is permitted for completion.
