Course Description

The Inclusive Teaching Module is a standalone online resource and an integral part of a blended workshop designed for those interested in inclusive and equitable education, particularly for individuals in teaching roles such as faculty, teaching staff, and teaching assistants/fellows.

Program Details

• Who: Open to anyone interested in inclusive and equitable education, especially designed for those in teaching roles.
• What: The module explores why inclusive teaching is relevant and important by articulating multiple intersecting identities and reflecting upon how these identities influence experiences with education. It introduces reflective teaching through a framework for critically examining specific teaching practices and includes opportunities to practice distinguishing inclusive practices from less inclusive ones.
• How: Participants have three options for using this material:
  • Explore the module at their own pace, guided by topics of interest.
  • Facilitate a blended workshop using the online module by following the Facilitation Guide.
  • Participate in a blended workshop, engaging locally in their home institutions version.
• Why: The module promotes mindsets and processes for evaluating pedagogical choices, encouraging empathy with students, evaluating instructional choices, and reflecting on what inclusive teaching means in various environments.
