Introduction to the Ripiro Beach Non-Fiction Writing Residency
The Ripiro Beach Non-Fiction Writing Residency is an opportunity for alumni of the University of Auckland to have time and space to work towards or complete a creative non-fiction work.
About the Residency
Established in 2024 by Caroline Barron, Jeremy Barron, and Associate Professor Paula Morris, Director of the Master of Creative Writing programme, the residency provides an opportunity for an alum from the University of Auckland to focus on their creative non-fiction work.
Residency Details
- The residency takes place over two weeks between July and September of each year.
- It includes accommodation at the Barron family bach at Ripiro Beach (Baylys Beach).
- A $1,500 stipend is provided, funded by the Barron Family and the Master of Creative Writing Alumni Fund.
Eligibility and Application
- The residency is open to alumni of the University of Auckland from any faculty.
- Applications for the 2026 residency open on 2 March 2026.
