Master of Design Program
The Master of Design program is a postgraduate degree that focuses on creating meaningful connections between people and technology through interactive design.
Program Overview
The program gives students the freedom to explore their own ideas and discover what they are passionate about. It is flexible and supportive, allowing students to grow in their own way.
Thesis
The Master's thesis explores how sound can create a sense of belonging in multicultural urban spaces. It uses soundwalks and participatory design to create prototypes that transform bus stops and shop fronts into responsive, empathetic spaces.
Personal Growth
The program has helped students grow as individuals, developing valuable skills such as communication and confidence in presenting ideas.
Career Plans
After graduation, students plan to stay and work in New Zealand or return to their home country to pursue a career in interactive design or teaching.
Advice for International Students
The advice for future international students is to be open-minded, not afraid of challenges, and kind to themselves. They should focus on being the best version of themselves and enjoy the experience of studying abroad.
