Program Overview


Introduction to the Program

The BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice is a three-year full-time program designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become professional healthcare practitioners. The program is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has an excellent employability rating.


Program Overview

The program is divided into three years, with each year consisting of 120 credits. Students will study a range of modules, including Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice, Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Practice Education, and Selfcare in Healthcare. The program also includes a 50/50 split between classes and placements, providing students with hands-on experience in a clinical setting.


Entry Requirements

To apply for the program, students will need 112 UCAS points, with at least 80 points coming from A levels, BTEC, or other equivalent qualifications. Additional entry requirements include:


  • Typical offer: 112 UCAS points
  • A levels: BBC
  • BTEC: DMM

Fees and Funding

The standard course fee for UK students is Ł9,790 per year. Students may also be eligible for a payment of at least Ł5,000 per year, which does not need to be paid back and is in addition to any financial support received through their student loan.


Career Prospects

Graduates of the program will be eligible to register with the HCPC and will have excellent career prospects. Most graduates will go on to work in the NHS, but others may find positions overseas, in private practice, or in the Armed Forces.
