Program Overview


Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies is an interdisciplinary course of study that enables students to engage in the theory and practice of communication. This includes message creation, form and content, technologies and channels of delivery, reception and interpretation, and the larger impact on society and culture.


Program Overview

As a student majoring in Communication and Media Studies, you will gain a critical understanding of interpersonal communication as well as the social and cultural context of mass and social media. The program will enable students to pursue a number of other disciplines through a double major or minor, such as sociology, anthropology, the arts, English, computer science, Film, Television and Interactive Media Studies, journalism, and others.

Graduates will be well-prepared to pursue graduate studies or careers in an array of fields, including the arts and entertainment industries, marketing and public relations, or advocacy and policy work.
