Baccalauréat čs sciences sociales avec mineure

The Bachelor of Social Sciences with a minor allows students to acquire a fundamental education in social sciences. It also serves as a stepping stone for further studies in law or education. This program is offered in both French and English.

90 Credits

This program requires a minimum of 12 credits of courses at the 3000 or 4000 level. A maximum of 45 credits of courses can be at the 1000 level.

  • FRA 1710: Analyse, écriture et argumentation I (3 credits)
  • FRA 1720: Analyse, écriture et argumentation II (3 credits)
  • Total: 6 credits
• Mandatory Courses
  • SCS 1550: Introduction aux sciences sociales (3 credits)
  • SCS 2550: Sciences sociales et recherche (3 credits)
• Optional Courses
  • One option from the following: (6 credits)
    • Option 1 - Volet innovation sociale et engagement communautaire
      • SCS 2560: Sciences sociales et sociétés en mutation
      • SCS 3530: Innovation sociale et engagement communautaire
    • Option 2 - Volet innovation sociale et justice sociale
      • SCS 3740: Innovation sociale et justice sociale - Practicum
      • 3 credits of optional courses from the Venture initiative
      • 12 credits of optional courses from at least four of the following disciplines: anthropology (ANT), criminology (CRM), international development and globalization (DVM), conflict studies and human rights (ECH), economics (ECO), feminist and gender studies (FEM), public administration (PAP), political science (POL), psychology (PSY), sociology (SOC), social work (SVS)

Notes

1. Students who choose to follow the "innovation sociales et justice sociale" stream must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 6.0.

3. The disciplines chosen must be different from those chosen for the minors.
4. A minimum of 15 credits of courses at the 3000 or 4000 level is required among the four chosen disciplines.
