Introduction to the Bachelor of Commerce + Master of Science in Management Program
The Bachelor of Commerce + Master of Science in Management (with Research Project) is an accelerated program that allows students to earn a bachelor's and a master's degree within five years. This program is designed to provide students with a unique academic background that enables them to stand out in the job market.
Program Structure
The program structure is as follows:
- Years 1 & 2: 20 courses towards the Bachelor of Commerce degree
- Year 3:
- Fall term: 5 Bachelor of Commerce courses
- Winter term: 5 Bachelor of Commerce courses
- Recommended course: ADM 3998
- Year 4:
- Fall term: 3 Bachelor of Commerce courses, 2 Master of Science in Management courses (MGT 5200 and MGT 5300)
- Winter term: 5 Bachelor of Commerce courses, formal admission offer to the Master of Science in Management program, supervisor matching, and project topic approval
- Bridge (summer term): Master of Science in Management research project
- Year 5:
- Fall term: Master of Science in Management research project, 2 Master of Science in Management concentration courses, research seminars
- Winter term: Master of Science in Management research project, 4 Master of Science in Management concentration courses, research seminars
Program Details
During the Bachelor of Commerce program, students are encouraged to take ADM 3998 as an elective in their third year. In the fourth year, students take MGT 5300 and MGT 5200 as electives. If students meet the admission criteria, they receive a formal offer of admission to the Master of Science in Management program during the winter term of their fourth year.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following academic requirements:
- Have an 8.0 (A-) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the time of enrollment in the graduate Master of Science in Management courses
- Achieve a minimum passing grade of 65% (C+) in each graduate-level course
Admission Test
Students who maintain a CGPA equal to or above 8.0 are not required to write the GMAT or GRE.
Personal Interview
Students may be required to attend an interview with the Telfer Graduate Programs Office admission committee to assess whether the program is a good fit for them.
Completing the Master of Science in Management
Once matched with a supervisor, students start their research project in the spring-summer term after their fourth year. While taking courses during the fall and winter terms, students continue to work on their research project and attend at least four research seminars.

The program propels students into a project-based master's by integrating two graduate courses during the last year of their bachelor's. Students can earn two degrees in a shorter amount of time by entering the Master of Science in Management program full-time during the spring-summer bridge term.
