Honours Bachelor of Science Nursing Program

The Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year program that seeks to prepare the next generation of nurses to offer quality nursing care and to assume leadership within the health care system.

Program Overview

The program is offered in both official languages and has a mandate to prepare generalist nurses who can work in any place offering nursing care. The program aims to develop effective communication skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills, and to foster a commitment to lifelong learning.

The program consists of 120 units and is offered on a full-time basis. The passing grade for all nursing (NSG) courses is C+.

Program Details

The program is anticipated to receive its first cohort in September 2026. Transfer students coming from another nursing program are not eligible for admission to this nursing program. The program also leads to graduate studies (MSc, MSc NP, PhD) in nursing sciences at the University of Ottawa. A French or an English immersion stream is available with this program.
