Program Overview
University Program Details
The Faculty of Law offers various programs at the undergraduate level, including the National Program, which is available in French only. The National Program is a 30-unit program that can be completed by persons who have completed or are completing a common law degree in a Canadian university.
Program Structure
The National Program consists of the following courses:
- DRC 4390: Obligations I (3 units)
- DRC 4391: Property Law (3 units)
- DRC 4392: Persons and Family Law (3 units)
- DRC 4393: Civil Law Reasoning (3 units)
- DRC 4394: Obligations II (3 units)
- DRC 4396: Private International Law (3 units)
- In addition to these required courses, students must complete 12 units from the list of optional courses.
Optional Courses
The list of optional courses for the National Program is drawn up each year by the Faculty and includes:
- DRC 4148: Security for Debt (3 units)
- DRC 4158: Matrimonial Property (3 units)
- DRC 4159: Wills and Estates (3 units)
- DRC 4168: Selected Topics in Civil Law I (3 units)
- DRC 4331: Selected Topics in Civil Law II (3 units)
- DRC 4372: Civil Law Writing (3 units)
- DRC 4383: Civil Procedure I (3 units)
- DRC 4395: Obligations III (3 units)
Program Requirements
The National Program requires a total of 30 units, which can be completed in one additional year of study for students who have already completed a common law degree in a Canadian university. This program creates opportunities for students in the national and international scene.
Other Programs Offered
The Faculty of Law also offers other programs, including the Licentiate in Law, Licentiate in Law and Honours BSocSc in International Development and Globalization, Canadian Law Program, and Licentiate in Law-MBA Program. The Master of Business Administration is offered in both English and French, while the National Program, the General Certificate in Law, and the Minor in Law are offered in both English and French.
