Program Overview


uOttawa Summer String Academy

The uOttawa Summer String Academy is an intensive 2-week summer string program for violin, viola, cello, and piano students held on the campus of The University of Ottawas School of Music. With a focus on developing musicianship in solo and chamber music, university and advanced high school students are encouraged to audition to work with the internationally recognized University of Ottawa faculty.

The program will be offered from August 4-15, 2025, on weekdays only, and will be held in-person.


Admissions Information

Applications will open on January 15th, 2025.

Fees

  • Application fee: $70 + tax CAD
  • Tuition: $850 + tax CAD
  • Accommodation: $850 + tax CAD (room for 13 nights)

Accommodation

Accommodation is available to out-of-town students at the 90U Residence Hall, located conveniently across from Perez Hall, and is not mandatory. It is available to all students aged 18 and older. Students under 18 may stay in the residence with a parent/guardian at an extra cost. Students will be responsible for their own meals, however each suite includes a kitchenette. A limited number of billets are available for students under the age of 18.
