Program Overview
The Microprogram Research
The Microprogram Research allows students to develop strong research skills in the management field of their interest, enabling them to work closely with professors while acquiring the tools to continue their studies at the graduate level. This microprogram is available to Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) students only.
Courses
The Microprogram Research consists of three courses (9 units): one compulsory course focusing on methodology techniques in research, and two optional courses that allow students to apply their learning from the research methodology course.
Required Courses
- Course: ADM 3311 Business Research Methods
- Terms Offered: Winter
- Prerequisites: All ADM core courses at the 1000 and 2000 levels (two exceptions are tolerated)

- Prerequisites: Open only to fourth-year students whose CGPA is 7.0 or over, and subject to the consent of the professor and the Student Services Centre

BCom Program Structure
Complete the Microprogram Research with the following structure:
- Common core: 21 courses, 63 units
- BCom option: 6 courses, 18 units
- Microprogram: varying courses, 9 units
- Out-of-faculty elective: 5 courses, 15 units
- Free elective: 5 courses, 15 units
Students will use their three (3) ADM elective courses to complete the courses in the microprogram.
Admission
To be admitted to the Microprogram Research, BCom students need to request a program change from the Telfer Undergraduate Office to add the Microprogram Research to their degree. It is recommended to request this change during the first or second year of studies. Program request changes can be made each year between March 1 and June 1.
