The Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Certificate is a graduate certificate program designed to provide current Michigan Tech graduate students and clinical and information technology professionals with the tools to reinvent healthcare. This certificate is for qualified professionals who want to enhance their skill set and can be a foundation to continue toward a graduate degree.
Program Overview
Artificial intelligence is driving innovation and transforming modern medicine, using vast digital health datasets to improve healthcare operations, safety, and delivery. This on-campus and online certificate was developed by the Department of Applied Computing's MS in Health Informatics to provide students with the tools to combine patient care with AI tools to augment their practice as health professionals.
Admissions
Students take two required courses and one elective course over two semesters. For elective courses, students will be able to choose one course from three available options.
- Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
- GMAT/GRE: Not required
- Prerequisites: none
- International Students:
- TOEFL: Recommended Score of 95 iBT
- IELTS: Recommended Overall Band Score of 7.0
- Michigan Tech requires a minimum of 79 overall TOEFL or 6.5 overall IELTS score

Online learning at Michigan Tech provides greater flexibility and can fit around a busy schedule wherever you are. Prospective students can earn a graduate certificate in artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Credits and Application
This graduate certificate requires a minimum of 9 total credits. Students may apply the credits earned for this certificate toward a graduate degree at Michigan Tech.
