Program Overview


Bachelor in Management of Public Security

The Bachelor in Management of Public Security is a 4-year program (240 credits) offered at the Guardia Civil University Centre (Aranjuez) in Spanish. This degree can only be accessed exclusively by Non-Commissioned Officers of the Guardia Civil who become part of the Officers' Scale.


Presentation

The Guardia Civil is a security force of military nature with a great tradition in Spain, comprising over 80,000 men and women. The chief aim of the Bachelors in Public Security Management is to train future officers for the Civil Guards for undertaking their leadership activities, especially those pertaining to command, coordination, inspection, and management of services linked to security.

Entry Profile

To access this degree, students must be Non-Commissioned Officers of the Guardia Civil who become part of the Officers' Scale. The entry profile requires:


  • Identification with moral values and the constitutional order
  • Interest in professional topics related to the Guardia Civil and Security
  • Adequate level of English expression and comprehension
  • Good physical condition, resistance to fatigue, vitality, and positive attitude towards sports
  • Ability to develop work in a methodical and organized manner, with initiative
  • Ability to manage human relationships and adapt to group work
  • Creativity, analytical mind, and practical sense

General Access Requirements

  • Spanish nationality
  • Not deprived of civil rights
  • No criminal record
  • Not being processed or implicated in a judicial procedure for a deliberate crime
  • Not having been separated from service in any public administration or having been disqualified for the exercise of public functions
  • Not exceeding 50 years of age for professional promotion
  • Possessing the necessary psychophysical aptitude

Special Access Requirements

  • Requirements for access to university degree studies (Article 3 of RD 412/2014) or possession of titles or certifications from previous educational orders, having passed the university entrance exam
  • Passing the tests established in the corresponding selection system (competition-opposition of the annual call published in the Official Gazette of the Guardia Civil)
