MÃster de Formaciµn Permanente en Industria Musical y Estudios Sonoros

The MÃster de Formaciµn Permanente en Industria Musical y Estudios Sonoros (MiMeS) is a master's program that responds to the need to train professionals and researchers in the face of the challenges posed by the digitization and transformation of the sound and music industry.


Description

The program aims to provide students with the tools to manage sound content, create a music radio station, understand changes in the sound environment, work in the live music sector, or conduct research on the sector. MiMeS offers a multidisciplinary and international approach to the different genres present in the industry, observed from a combined perspective of academics and professionals.


Objectives

The objectives of the program are to:


  • Investigate musical creation processes
  • Promote innovation in the different facets of the sound world
  • Develop a critical spirit in the face of changes in the industry

Structure

The program is structured into two semesters, with a total of 60 credits.


First Semester

    • Organization of the musical system according to economic, political, and social parameters
    • Policies for the musical sector at the national and international level
    • Cultural diversity and the music industry
  • Mµdulo Marco Legal de la Industria y Propiedad Intelectual (6 credits)
    • Legal framework of the music industry
    • Intellectual property: key concepts, rights, and limits
    • Management companies for intellectual property rights
    • The publishing company
    • Legislation on shows
  • Mµdulo Producciµn Musical y Empresa FonogrÃfica (6 credits)
    • Key elements of the musical production process
    • Organization of the phonographic company/producer
