The Master in Transmedia Documentary and Reportage targets bachelor degree holders in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Film Studies, and Advertising & Public Relations, as well as graduates in Fine Arts and Design. Program Description
From linear documentary to television reporting, encompassing new interactive online formats and mobile narratives, the Master's scope includes a broad array of journalistic and documentary narratives with a marked focus on the creation of transmedia documentary products. Media, companies, and institutions are experiencing a pressing need for versatile, multi-skilled, innovative, and imaginative professionals adept at telling stories through diverse media, formats, and languages.
Curriculum
The University Master's degree in Documentary and Transmedia Journalistic Reporting (60 ECTS credits) is structured in three subjects developed over the academic course, combining theoretical knowledge and practice work in audiovisual documentary making:
- Theory of documentary making and journalistic reporting
- Audiovisual production and management
- Distribution of transmedia projects

Admission
- Application: The request must be submitted electronically through the application system.
- Requirements: Students should be in possession of a degree qualification related or similar to the field of communications.
- Admission criteria:
- Academic record: 3 points
- Previous studies pertinent to the course: 2.5 points
- Other languages: 0.5 points
- Professional experience: 1.5 points
- Qualifications obtained in subjects essential for studying the master's degree: 1.5 points
- Motivation, interest, and letters of recommendation: 1 point

- Reservation fee: 600
- EU STUDENTS (110/ECTS): First academic year - 60 ECTS | 6,600
- NON EU STUDENTS (165/ECTS): First academic year - 60 ECTS | 9,900

Scholarships
- UC3M TUITION GRANTS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027: A maximum of 3 grants have been announced for the academic year to cover the net tuition fees for students admitted to the Master's program.

- Partial decisions:
- First partial decision: from 23 February 2026 (applications submitted until 31 January 2026)
- Second partial decision: from 27 April 2026 (applications submitted from 1 February to 31 March 2026)
- Third and final decision: from 22 June 2026 (applications submitted from 1 April to 31 May 2026)
International
- Programa Internacional: The M嫳ter en Documental y Reportaje Period疄tico Transmedia UC3M-RTVE offers students the opportunity to complement their training by visiting the Universidad Paris I Panth廩n-Sorbonne or the Universidad de Ginebra for a semester.
- Admisi鏮: Students interested must participate in the Erasmus+ call for the corresponding academic year, with places awarded based on academic excellence.
- Reconocimiento Oficial: Students receive formal recognition of their period of study abroad in their academic record and certificate.
