Program Overview

Master's Degree Programme in Biology of Physical Activity

The Master's Degree Programme in Biology of Physical Activity educates academic experts who understand the interactive mechanisms between different physiological systems and physical exercise, and their theoretical background. The programme is designed to prepare students for careers in research centres, medical rehabilitation centres, sports medicine and exercise testing centres, sports academies and physical exercise and sports organisations. It also qualifies students to apply for postgraduate studies in the field.

Programme Overview

• The programme is a two-year full-time education (120 ECTS credits) taught in English.
• The application period is once a year in January, with studies beginning in August.
• There is no mid-point entry to the programme.
• Graduates will receive a Master of Sports Sciences degree.

Fields of Specialisation

The programme offers three possible fields of specialisation to choose from:

• Exercise Physiology
• Science of Sport Coaching
• Fitness Testing and Biomechanics

Tuition Fee

• The tuition fee is 12,000.
• Students from non-EU/EEA countries are liable to pay a tuition fee but can apply for a scholarship after their first year of studies.
• An Early Bird discount of 1500 is available for applicants paying tuition fees who accept their study place within 14 days.

Structure of the Degree Programme

The masters thesis will be constructed in the form of a scientific paper with the aim of publishing it in an international peer-reviewed journal.
