Master in Business Legal Advice

The Master in Business Legal Advice from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is a comprehensive program designed for law graduates seeking advanced education and training in law applied to companies in Spain, the European Union, and their international business interactions.


Program Overview

The program prepares students to face global challenges and occupy leading positions in resolving legal problems. It provides specialized training to ensure graduates acquire the necessary skills and abilities to exercise their professional work in this field.


Curriculum Structure

The Master program consists of 4 subjects with different features, contents, and duration. The compulsory general part focuses on:


  • Company Law
  • Contractual Law
  • Legal and Business English
  • Economic and Financial Management in Businesses

Once the general module is completed, students acquire specific technical knowledge related to the main areas of business legal advice, including:


  • Uniform International Commercial Law
  • Labour Law
  • Tax Law
  • Practice of law related to financial Markets and free competition

Elective Courses

In addition to the compulsory modules, there is a wide range of elective courses on offer, allowing students to deepen their knowledge of specific aspects of business legal advice. Students must choose 12 ECTS from among the subjects offered, including:


  • Arbitration and negotiation techniques
  • Administrative practice and civil bankruptcy
  • Unfair competition and Intellectual Property
  • Business finance law
  • Disruptive Technologies in Business models and commercial transactions
  • Business Legal Advice in Strategic Sectors
  • M&A; Transactions: Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Forensic Internships

Internships

Starting in June, students can join national and international companies, professional associations, and law firms for internships lasting a minimum of six months and a maximum of one year.


Master's Thesis

The curriculum concludes with the preparation of a 6-credit master project focused on a specific subject.


Admission

Requirements

  • Graduates in Law from Spanish Universities
  • Graduates in Law from foreign universities with qualifications allowing access to master studies according to Spanish or EU law

  • Student record of previous studies (50%)
  • Other languages knowledge (15%)
  • Professional experience (15%)
  • Marks obtained in subjects essential to study this Master's Degree (10%)
  • Motivation, interest, and references (10%)

  • B1 English language qualification according to the European Reference Framework

Tuition Fees

  • EU students: 7,800 euros (60 ECTS)
  • Non-EU students: 11,700 euros (60 ECTS)

Enrollment Process

Students can enroll in the Master's degree after completing the admission process and receiving formal confirmation of their acceptance. Enrollment can be full-time or part-time.

The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid offers various scholarships for Master's students. More information is available upon request.


Quality Assurance

The Academic Committee of the Master's program is responsible for the follow-up, analysis, review, assessment, and quality of the program. The committee contributes to proposals to improve the program and produces the Memoria Académica de Titulación (Programme Report).
