Master's Degree Programme in Artificial Intelligence

The Master's Degree Programme in Artificial Intelligence is a two-year full-time programme taught in English, provided by the Faculty of Information Technology. The programme covers cutting-edge topics such as machine learning, deep learning, cognitive computing, and AI security.


Programme Information

  • The programme is a 2-year full-time study (120 ECTS credits).
  • Application period is once a year in January.
  • Studies begin in August, with no mid-point entry to the programme.
  • Tuition fee for non-EU/EEA students is 12,000.

Admission Criteria

  • Suitable fields of the previous degree include Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Applied Mathematics, Control Systems, Computational Science, Information Management, or other related fields.
  • Applicants must have basic skills in programming, as well as in using related information structures and algorithms.
  • English language proficiency is required.

The programme covers a wide spectrum of activities for the future professional, from the advanced use of available AI methods, algorithms, and tools to the inventing, designing, and developing of new advanced AI methods, algorithms, and tools. Research areas include:


  • Machine learning, deep learning, and cognitive computing
  • Knowledge representation, reasoning, and decision-making
  • Semantic web, linked data, and knowledge graphs
  • Artificial general intelligence, autonomous agents, and collective intelligence
  • AI & security (AI as subject, object, or instrument of attack and defense)

Student Profile

We are looking for students who have a suitable higher education degree and adequate proficiency in the English language. Students must also have basic skills in programming, as well as in using related information structures and algorithms.


Programme Structure

The programme includes both taught elements and a Master's thesis. After graduation, students will have the opportunity to apply for Doctoral Studies in Natural Sciences. The duration of Doctoral Studies as full-time study will take approximately four years and includes both taught elements and a Doctoral Dissertation.
