University Program Information
The Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin offers a variety of programs through its Central Institution of University Sports. One such program is the Judo course.
Judo Program Description
Judo is a traditional Far Eastern martial art that is both physically and coordinatively demanding. The training in the university sports courses is competition-oriented, with an emphasis on the enjoyment of the sport. Standing and ground techniques, throws, and grips are taught by competent instructors.
Level and Participation Requirements
The program is divided into different levels, each with its own participation requirements and content:
- A1/A2: For beginners without prior knowledge and advanced beginners up to III. Kyu (green belt)
- A1: Goal for beginners - official completion of the VIII. Kyu (white-yellow belt) exam
- A2: Further Kyu and technique training, with little competition-oriented training
- A2: Minimum graduation - VIII. Kyu (white-yellow belt)
- Competition-oriented training
- F: Minimum graduation - VII. Kyu (yellow belt)
- Competition-oriented training
What to Bring
Participants are required to bring sports clothing, a towel, and a drink.
